Cambridge Indivisible applauds Democrats for standing strong against Trump’s MAGA Murder Law, which would have stolen healthcare from seniors, taken food from children, and forced working families to sacrifice while billionaires profited. By holding the line, Democrats protected millions of Americans from Trump’s dangerous lies and devastating cuts.
Cambridge, MD — Cambridge Indivisible commends Democratic leaders for standing strong against Trump’s MAGA Murder Law and refusing to bankroll his hostile takeover of our government.
Trump and his MAGA regime lied to the public, claiming Democrats wanted to provide “free healthcare for millions of illegals.” That was a calculated distraction designed to divide us. The truth is his bill would have:
Stolen healthcare from seniors
Slashed Medicaid and SNAP, taking food from children
Raised the retirement age, forcing workers to do more for less
Robbed everyday Americans to bankroll Trump’s billionaire backers
“This was never about immigrants,” said Michelle Fowle, Co-Founder of Cambridge Indivisible. “This was about hurting everyday American families while protecting Trump’s wealthy donors. If Democrats hadn’t held the line, seniors would be sicker, children would be hungrier, and working families would be pushed further into struggle. Instead, Democrats stood strong — and millions of Americans are safer today because of it.”
Because of Democratic resolve, seniors will continue to receive care, children will not go hungry, and workers will still have a chance to retire with dignity.
“Trump wanted to force Congress to bankroll a war against Americans,” added Andy Fowle, Co-Founder of Cambridge Indivisible. “Democrats refused to be complicit — and we are grateful. Now we need them to keep holding the line. The people are on their side. No funding for fascism. No bankrolling billionaires.”
