MEDIA ADVISORY: Dorchester County Joins National “Healthcare Not Authoritarianism” Shutdown Showdown
Community Joins National Action to Demand Congress Protect Healthcare and Reject Trump’s Shutdown Scheme
Hurlock, MD — On Saturday, October 4, community members in Dorchester County will join Americans at hundreds of events nationwide in the fight to protect healthcare access as Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans in Congress push our country into a government shutdown rather than lower healthcare costs for families.
Cambridge Indivisible and the Dorchester Democratic Central Committee will march together in the Hurlock Fall Fest Parade to demonstrate that our communities will always fight for affordable healthcare and against authoritarian power grabs.
Participants will call on Congressional Democrats to hold their ground — demanding any funding deal must protect healthcare for millions of families, extend Affordable Care Act subsidies, and reverse cruel Medicaid cuts.
Local organizers invite press to attend, capture, and uplift the voices of those taking peaceful action to stop Congress from bowing down to Trump’s demands.
